In my opinion, this 2016 election is never over until President elect, Donald Trump is inaugurated on January 20, 2017 (or even some later date for some reason). There are MANY things that could change the results of this election. I will give you 3 major categories of possibilities that could still occur.
First of all, if you are a Christian who truly studies to understand the Truths of God’s Word (II Timothy 2:15-17), or if you are one who is being guided into His Truth, you MUST understand that we have a VERY capable Adversary who has been manipulating EVERYTHING in his favor while he still has control over the physical realm of this world (II Corinthians 4:4). We must ALL never underestimate the power of the inferior “god of this world” until Jesus Christ returns. He gained this power when he tempted Adam and Eve to not believe what they were originally told by God (Genesis 2:15 – 3:19).
II Corinthians 4:4
In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
The TRUE God didn’t want us to be ignorant of Satan’s devices (II Corinthians 2:11). He wanted us to constantly recognize that our Adversary is ALWAYS seeking ways to OVERCOME God, Christians and unbelievers.
I must admit that I was a little bit concerned about the “tone” of the concession speeches of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama on November 9, 2016 after the election of Donald Trump to become the next President of the United States. They just seemed too willing to admit defeat when they have ALWAYS been VERY belligerent and divisive against the NEW Republican movement led by Donald Trump.
Some of the Things that Could Happen
(1) The yet “officially” counted electoral votes could be changed in Clinton’s favor. Yes, you read this correctly… In order to understand this possibility, you must understand what “electoral votes” are all about and WHEN they come into play. I would suggest that you read this definition from Wikipedia:
The United States Electoral College is the body that elects the President and Vice President of the United States every four years. Citizens of the United States do not directly elect the President or the Vice President; instead they choose “electors”, who usually pledge to vote for particular candidates.
The original intent of the electoral college was to protect the representation and the interests of states that have less dense populations. It was established so that a small number of heavily populated states would not dominate and determine the outcome of a federal election.
This is the difference between a representative Republic and a Democracy. A true Republic does not allow “mob rule”, but rather allows everyone to have a voice and a part in the decision making of that country. Individual rights are protected in a Republic and a concentration of power is avoided.
The number of electors allocated for each state is based upon the number of U.S. Senators in addition to the number of Representatives in the U.S. House of Representatives (which is updated every 10 years based upon the state’s census). There are currently 29 states plus the District of Columbia that DO require electors to vote according to the state’s popular vote. So, there are 21 states that have NO requirements or legal control over how their electors vote.
Now THIS is the MAJOR POINT: The elector’s votes are “officially cast” by the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December (which is December 19th this year of 2016) at the state capital of their state. Between the time of the election and this date, electors COULD be coerced or enticed in 21 states to change the electoral vote they each cast!
In the past history, these exceptions have only come into play 4 times in the previous century (in 1824, 1876, 1888 and 2000) where a candidate won the popular vote but did not get the required electoral college votes. In this election, the popular vote count is still debated, BUT the electoral vote could still be contested after December 19th. The ONLY thing that matters, though, is who wins the ELECTORAL vote… ALWAYS.
SO… should there be a change in the final tabulation of the votes of the electors that would change the initial election result, the following procedure is applied to determine who the ultimate winner of the election is according to Wikipedia.
The Twelfth Amendment mandates that the Congress assemble in joint session to count the electoral votes and declare the winners of the election. The session is ordinarily required to take place on January 6 in the calendar year immediately following the meetings of the presidential electors. Since the Twentieth Amendment, the newly elected House declares the winner of the election; all elections before 1936 were determined by the outgoing House.
This video below does a good job of explaining how the electoral college works.
(2) There IS ANOTHER possibility. It is in the Presidential Succession Act that was adopted in 1947 and is codified at 3 U.S.C. § 19.which states this:
Vacancy in offices of both President AND Vice President; officers eligible to act.
(1) If, by reason of death, resignation, removal from office, inability, or failure to qualify, there is neither a President NOR Vice President to discharge the powers and duties of the office of President, then the SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES (Paul Ryan as of now) shall, upon his resignation as Speaker and as Representative in Congress, act as President.
(2) The same rule shall apply in the case of the death, resignation, removal from office, or inability of an individual acting as President under this subsection.
Oh, and by the way, section (c) of this act allows the CURRENT PRESIDENT (Obama as of now) to continue to act as President until the time that the next potential President in the line of succession is officially installed as the new President with his chosen Vice President.
There is also the issue of the difference between an elected and inaugurated President AND Vice President. I do not believe that Mike Pence would be installed in the line of succession if Donald Trump has not yet been inaugurated and has been disqualified due to one of the above reasons. This would be because Pence had not yet been inaugurated as Vice President. Therefore, Paul Ryan would eventually be installed as President along with his chosen Vice President. Until that time, Obama would continue on as the acting President (most likely quite a while past January 20th).
So even if Trump IS elected, there are a number of things that could happen up to when, and even after what time, he becomes the inaugurated President that could involve either Paul Ryan becoming President OR Hillary Clinton becoming President OR Obama continuing on temporarily as President OR the next in the line of succession becoming President.
ALSO, keep in mind the terms in the Act above “FAILURE TO QUALIFY” because this could involve Clinton OR Trump AND their running mate [if they die, resign, are removed from office (like Nixon was), are “unable” (i.e. a health issue) or “fail to qualify” (which should have been the case with Obama’s country of birth).
(3) There is a THIRD more remote possibility. It is called Executive Order 13603.
I will not go into all of the ramifications of this Executive Order (signed by Obama) at this time. What I will do, though, is refer you to a source of information about this that is VERY thorough. This source is called The Common Sense Show. Click on the name to access a number of VERY insightful articles about what can happen at ANY time the President chooses.
We must continue to keep the newly elected President Trump AND Mike Pence in our prayers. Our Heavenly Father has graciously allowed them to become elected, and with our help and prayer they can both continue on to lead this nation in a direction that will allow it to become GREAT again.
Update: (11/26/16) Election recounts in Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania are being used now as a delay tactic to overturn the election results and even possibly delay the inauguration date. Read this article to see what they are planning.
Update: (11/27/16) This article by Mike Adams of NaturalNews.com shows that there are 10 possible ways that the radical left may still be able to overthrow the Trump election victory and even possibly install Hillary in the White House. Most of these would also fit into our above 3 scenarios from this article.
May God Bless You and Watch Over You and Your Loved Ones,
