Forced Deindustrialization is Crippling America’s Economy

America is being forced into deindustrialization and it is crippling our economy. Our current President is quietly and secretly negotiating the most important trade commitment since the formation of the World Trade Organization in January of 1995. He has refused to even provide Congress with a copy of the draft agreement, although they have asked over and over again to see it. He has furthermore banned members of Congress from participating in the negotiations for this treaty. His strategy seems to be to keep this trade commitment hidden until the last minute. Then it will likely be railroaded through Congress and signed into law by October.

The countries that are known to be linked to the development of this treaty include the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Chile, Peru, Singapore, Vietnam, Brunei and Malaysia. If this actually becomes ratified, additional countries will be more than eager to jump on board with this treaty also. This is because, as a result of these kinds of “free trade” agreements, the U.S. is constantly winding up with the raw end of the deal economically while other countries benefit from the deal.

As our economic system is torn apart, formerly great manufacturing cities throughout America are now being transformed into unproductive wastelands. Everywhere in the United States now there are state and local governments that are on the verge of going into bankruptcy. So the policies of our Federal government are also damaging our state and local economies. While we are falling into a cesspool of debt, our capacity to generate wealth keeps plummeting also.

The Trans-Pacific Partnership and It’s Effects

A handful of the conditions in this agreement have leaked out. It is being disclosed that almost all of the provisions of SOPA appear to have been secretly included into this treaty. This agreement would impose very rigid Internet copyright regulations. SOPA was greatly criticized by the American citizens due to the fact that it contained a majority of these rules. If this treaty is signed, those provisions would become mandatory and the American citizens would not be able to do anything about it.

This treaty could also get rid of all “Buy American” laws. This plan includes even more far-reaching incentives to relocate domestic manufacturing overseas than were incorporated into NAFTA. If we fail to support American workers, then they will continue to see their occupations shipped outside of the country. We badly need a rebirth of economic patriotism in the US before it is too late.

This partnership should hand Wall Street banks far more freedom to trade risky derivatives as this would practically get rid of bans on high-risk financial products. These derivatives were a huge factor in the financial meltdown in 2008. Policies were set in place at that time to block what these derivatives were doing to the United States economy.

How “Free-Trade” Agreements Have Worked Out for the U.S.

This “One World” economic plan is demolishing U.S. employment and companies at an incredible rate of speed. We have all witnessed the economic destruction that NAFTA caused. These “free trade” agreements are formed in order to build up exports, but they are not fulfilling this purpose at all. Initially, when NAFTA was ratified by Congress in 1993, the United States actually enjoyed a trade surplus with Mexico of 1.6 billion dollars. Later on, by 2010, the U.S. experienced a trade deficit with Mexico of 61.6 billion dollars.

Our trade deficit with China was approximately 6 million dollars for the whole year in 1985. Just a year ago, our trade deficit with China totaled 315 billion dollars. This is now the largest trade deficit that any one country has ever had with some other country in documented history. The United States has now lost an average of approximately 50,000 jobs in manufacturing each month since China joined the World Trade Organization in 2001.

The U.S. government has recently adopted a “free trade” policy and the emerging One World economic system like it never has in the past. In contrast to building up the quantity of jobs in our economy, this policy has generated the worst stretch of job growth that the USA ever recorded in recent history.

Statistics Don’t Lie

  • America has lost more than 56,000 manufacturing facilities since 2001.
  • We have lost an average of 15 manufacturing facilities a day over the last 10 years, according to U.S. Congresswoman Betty Sutton.
  • In 2010 alone, an average of 23 manufacturing facilities were permanently shut down in the United States every single day.
  • There are fewer Americans working in manufacturing today than there were in 1950, even though the country’s population has more than doubled since then.
  • According to the Economic Policy Institute, every single year America is losing half a million jobs to China.
  • Professor Alan Blinder of Princeton University predicts that if current trends continue the way they are headed, then we will lose another 40 million more U.S. jobs to offshore businesses over the next two decades.
  • There was a staggering 95 percent of the jobs lost during the last recession which came out of the middle class.
  • Today there is a total of more than 41% of all working age Americans that do not have a job. In addition, the majority of new jobs being created are only low paying jobs.
  • Without enough good jobs, more Americans are becoming dependent on the government. The number of Americans on food stamps has gone from about 17 million in the year 2000 to almost 50 million today.
  • Since 1975, the United States has run a trade deficit of more than 8 trillion dollars with the rest of the world. Our nation has a negative trade imbalance that is more than 7 times larger than any other nation on earth.

Conclusions

In the name of “free trade”, US workers are being blended into a global labor pool in which they are forced to compete personally for jobs with laborers on the other side of the planet. Those employees are living in countries in which it is completely legal to pay slave labor wages.

Buying lower-priced products from other countries is not a good thing for us at all. It actually ends up sapping both our economy and our labor force at the same time. Contrary to what you may be hearing from our mainstream media, the percentage of our civilian labor force in the USA that is employed has been constantly shrinking each and every single year since 2006.

We are living in a nation that has the largest debt bubble in the history of the world. When and if it completely bursts, there will be no return to the way things were before. The bankers that helped to form the Federal Reserve intended to completely enslave the U.S. government into a continually widening spiral of debt. Their plans are working very well so far. At this point, the U.S. national debt is more than 5000 times higher than it had been when the Federal Reserve was first formed.

Politicians from all sides of the political spectrum continue to boldly support this One World economic agenda of the world’s elite. These elected officials are supposed to be supporting the wishes and desires of the general population. Unfortunately, the general populace has been left so far out in the dark and dumbed down by our government sponsored mass media that a huge majority have no real idea as to what is, in fact, taking place within this country.

It is certainly high time that all of us wake up and assist each other in becoming more informed about just where we are heading as a nation. As more and more people become aware, we will then be more capable of making some improvements in how things are being done before it is too late.
