Golf Swing Instruction – Improvement is Simple…

Have you ever been able to find golf swing instruction for yourself that has resulted in rapid improvement in your golf game? You may answer “yes” to this question, but find out that the improvement tip(s) that helped your golf game are now forgotten or not used by you anymore.

Now the question is; WHY have you forgotten what has helped you to improve your golf game and WHY are you not seeing rapid improvement in your golf game? These two questions have been a source of frustration for me as a golf professional teacher for years now until recently.

About 4 years ago I decided to become a better golf teacher. So I searched everywhere online and in written material to find some organization that teaches simple well-proven techniques of teaching golf. What I found kind of surprised me.

Internet and TV Search

Sure, there were the golf “guru” teachers that charged an arm and a leg to be taught their system so that you could then teach the same system to your students. Well, by studying what they taught and looking at their results, I came to the conclusion that they were teaching mainly to just make themselves rich. This, to me, was an offense to the profession of golf instruction.

Then there was the idea of becoming a PGA teaching professional. After seeing what they were teaching and watching some PGA professional promo material, as well as seeing how much they were charging just to become and remain a certified PGA professional: I just had to laugh and say no to their invitation.

Well, to my surprise, neither of these avenues had any good answers to my questions about how to teach my students in a simple way that would make their improvement simple, rapid and long-lasting. This wasn’t really a BIG surprise to me, though.

This is because, having been a USPTA certified tennis instructor a few years back as well as having been a major university Tennis Coach, I had to develop my own (similar) teaching philosophy with little help from the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association). I was successful developing many long-lasting results back then with my own system of tennis instruction, also.

So, to give credit where credit is due, when I began teaching golf, I learned to teach from the BEST. In my opinion, the best organization to learn to teach golf from is the United States Golf Teachers Federation (USGTF). I received valuable tips and instruction regarding long-lasting techniques and philosophies that get PROVEN results.

You see, I was hungry to truly help those golfers who came to me wanting to improve their golf game so that thy could really have FUN playing golf. I wanted to look back on what I had taught all of my students and see that they were not only applying principles and techniques that I had taught them, but that they were even being successful to new levels in their game. The key result is their improvement to a higher level of excellence and enjoyment in their game. Now, that was something that I could be a little proud of as a golf instructor.

Simple, rapid and long-lasting improvement is only possible if the principles that a student has been taught can be easily remembered and easily applied. Every golf professional has their own “system” of teaching. I know that I now have mine – and it is producing phenomenal results that can be measured in phenomenally rapid and long-lasting results.

I know I may sound like I am “tooting my own horn”, but I am just being honest. I am sure that any one of my students would agree with what I have just stated in the above paragraph. Phenomenally rapid and long-lasting results is what they are experiencing. This can be evidenced in their consistently lowering scores.

  1. I’m impressed, I must say. Actually not often do I encounter a blog that’s both educative and entertaining, and let me let you know, you’ve got hit the nail on the head. Your thought is excellent; the issue is something that not enough persons are talking intelligently about. I’m very blissful that I stumbled across this in my search for something relating to this.
