I was once listening to a Teacher who was teaching God’s Word when he said, “The greatest of All of God’s creation is His Word.” Now, this kind of caught my attention as I thought about this statement. Then the old Teacher gave a scripture from the Bible to back up this claim. He told us to turn in our bibles to Psalm 138:2 which said:
“I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.” KJV
(If you don’t have a Bible to read, go to this site and you can click on the links or read the verses here: Blue Letter Bible)
There it was… in black and white. I was looking at God’s opinion of His own written and spoken Word !! Now, can we say that about the words that we speak? I must admit that sometimes the things that I may say or write down on paper are not exactly perfect. I can’t completely stand by ALL of the things that I have ever said or written and say that they are all exactly as I intended them to be… can You?
Most people have been taught that there are “holes” in the truth of God’s Word. I am here to tell you, that there are absolutely no “holes” whatsoever in any of His creation and especially not in His Word. In fact, you will find that the closer and closer that you look at any of God’s creation, the more perfectly organized and interconnected it is.
What He has said in His Word, He means; and what He meant to say, He said EXACTLY as He meant to. Let me ask you, do you always “tell the truth and nothing but the truth”? In a court of law, I would certainly hope that you do. I know that I always have made a habit of trying my best to be truthful and honest in whatever I say or write.
There are times in the past, though, when I haven’t been perfectly honest or truthful. I think that you could probably say the same thing of yourself. Am I right? I didn’t feel “right” about those times, though. As a result, I had to go back later and try to patch up or set straight the mistake that I had made. This was really just time wasted that could have been avoided.
Well, in writing or speaking of any kind, the same principle applies. We should always try to be as truthful and honest as we are able to at that moment. Just try to remember this as you enjoy the pleasure of expressing yourself through verbal or written communication of any kind.
Here are a few other scriptures from God’s Word that may interest you regarding this subject matter:
II Timothy 3:16 (This explains how we got God’s Word – Holy men of God spoke it and then it was written down for our later reference.)
Psalm 119: 1-176 (Wow, that’s a lot of verses, isn’t it?) Well, I think you would be amazed to find out that each verse mentions God’s Word in one form or another in it !! I think you would really enjoy reading every verse in this 119th chapter of Psalms. I do this sometimes. It’s really fun and very enlightening. Try it 😀 It should only take you about 40 minutes or so to do it. This 119th Psalm was a Psalm (Song) of David, the King of Israel at that time. He was a man that God said in His Word was “after My (God’s) heart”. He probably sang this Psalm to himself many times.
Please write me, if you wish, to just even say “Did it !” or something more. I will enjoy reading every response 😀 (You can do this by responding to this blog. Just going to the bottom of the page where it says, “Leave a Reply”)
I wish you the best of “believing” in all that you do,
